Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have lots of fancy equipment, can I still make a good film?

Absolutely. Honestly, we have seen amazing films made with little more than a cell phone or a digital camera. The trick is to choose your story carefully and use your equipment effectively - we can help you with both.

Do I need to bring any equipment to the class?

No. Our studio is fully equipped.

Will you notify us if class is canceled?

If NJ Film School has to cancel a class due to inclement weather or other emergencies, we will contact each student through email. In the event that a class is canceled, we will add an additional class after the last week.

Can I transfer my registration to another class or season?

No. A registration must be used for the student, class, and season originally enrolled.

Can I cancel my class registration?

Yes. For a refund of any class registration (minus a 10% administration fee), contact us at least two weeks before the class begins (or four weeks for summer camps). Normally, no cancellations are allowed after this date. However, if you cancel within two weeks of the start of a full class and we are able to find a replacement we will refund your registration (minus a 20% administration fee).

Do you offer one-on-one sessions?

Yes. We offer a wide variety of individual sessions for Final Cut Pro, Script Analysis, and Directing. All sessions are customized for your individual needs. Please contact us to learn more.

Is your studio or equipment available for rent?

Yes. Our studio is available to rent for auditions, rehearsals, or filming and our equipment is available for on-site use only. Please contact us for schedule and pricing.

Are you available to come speak at our library, school, or community group?

Yes. We offer a series of lectures that we can run at your location.
